Maine Coon Kittens for Sale Washington Families Can Bring Home

Washington is a short flight and an easy one, with a twist at the end that no other state has: for a lot of families the last leg of the journey is a boat.

The honest answer

Sea-Tac or Spokane?

Sea-Tac takes a nonstop from San Diego in about two and three-quarter hours and covers everything west of the Cascades comfortably.

For Spokane and the east of the state, fly into Spokane instead. The mountains make the drive across far longer than the map suggests, and between November and March they can close it outright.

How a Kitten Reaches Washington

A flight nanny into Sea-Tac

Cabin only, handed to you at arrivals. Frequent service from San Diego means we can usually choose the landing time.

Into Spokane for the east

Fewer flights, but it removes a long mountain drive. For anyone from the Tri-Cities eastward this is almost always the shorter and safer day.

Fly in and carry them back

Under three hours each way. Several Washington families have done this in a single day.

We never place a kitten in cargo. If a route only works that way, we will tell you it does not work.

Worth knowing

What Catches Washington Families Out

The ferries. If getting home means a sailing, tell us before anything is booked. A kitten sitting in a car in a ferry queue for two hours is a worse afternoon than a slightly later flight, and we would rather work backwards from the boat.

The Cascades are the second. Snoqualmie and Stevens close with little warning in winter, so an east-side family flying into Sea-Tac to save a few dollars can end up on the wrong side of the state. Spokane exists for a reason.

And the rain is a litter training issue rather than a travel one. Have somewhere sheltered and predictable indoors for the first few weeks.

Settling in

The First Few Days at Home

Damp rather than cold is what your kitten will notice. Warm the car from October onwards and keep the first outings short and indoors.

Keep them on the same food for a week or two, and give them one room until they are asking to leave it.

Washington families come from Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, Vancouver, Bellevue, Kent, Everett, Renton, Olympia, Yakima and Bellingham.

What Your Kitten Travels With

Every kitten goes home spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed, with a health certificate, a carrier and a one year genetic health warranty. Read the contract. A $350 deposit holds a kitten against the $650 price, and travel is quoted separately.
