Inside Our Home
Our kittens are born and raised inside our Jamul home, surrounded by the everyday sights, sounds, and gentle attention of family life. They grow up in a warm, clean space created for confidence, comfort, and play.
A Home First
Queens have a quiet nursery space for their first weeks with their kittens. As the kittens become more mobile, they move into a kitten safe play area with toys, tunnels, scratchers, fresh bedding, and room to explore.
They are handled with care, introduced to daily household activity, and socialized with our family, including children and our dog. By the time a kitten is ready for home, the carrier, gentle grooming, play sessions, and normal household sounds are familiar parts of the day.
Every kitten receives regular observation, clean spaces, playtime, meals, fresh water, and individual attention as they grow.
We support litter habits, scratching habits, gentle handling, and calm introductions to new experiences before kittens leave.
Our kittens receive age appropriate vaccinations and deworming, veterinary care, a health record, and their spay or neuter procedure before going home.
Why It Matters
Kittens have a socialisation window that opens at roughly two weeks and begins closing around seven. What a kitten meets calmly inside that window it tends to accept for life; what it meets for the first time afterwards it is far more likely to find frightening. That window closes before a kitten is old enough to go home, which is why where those weeks are spent is the single thing worth asking any breeder about.
It is the reason our kittens are raised in the house rather than in a separate cattery building. A vacuum cleaner, a doorbell, a television, children moving quickly, a dog walking past, being picked up by someone unfamiliar: all of it is ordinary background by the time a kitten is seven weeks old, rather than something new to be met in your living room on the first evening.
The same applies to the carrier. A kitten that has already slept in one, with the door open and no journey attached, travels very differently from one meeting a carrier for the first time on the morning it flies.
