Maine Coon Kittens for Sale Missouri Families Can Bring Home

Missouri has two major airports at opposite ends of the state and four hours of driving in between, which makes picking the right one the single most useful thing you can do before booking anything.

The honest answer

Kansas City or St. Louis?

Kansas City is about two and three-quarter hours nonstop from San Diego, St. Louis about three. Both are straightforward airports for a handoff.

The rule of thumb is simple: west of Columbia, fly into Kansas City; east of it, St. Louis. Springfield and the southwest are their own case and worth asking about, because either can be the shorter day depending on the schedule that week.

How a Kitten Reaches Missouri

A flight nanny into MCI or STL

In the cabin, handed to you at arrivals. Which airport depends on your side of the state, not on the fare.

Fly in and carry them back

Both airports make this an easy weekend, and you get to meet the parents before you commit to anything.

Ground transport

About two days by road, door to door, with updates along the way. Missouri is close enough that this is a genuine option here rather than a fallback.

We never place a kitten in cargo. If a route only works that way, we will tell you it does not work.

Worth knowing

What Catches Missouri Families Out

Booking the wrong end of the state. It sounds obvious and it happens most often when one fare looks cheaper. Four hours on I-70 with a kitten who wants out of the carrier erases the saving very quickly.

Spring storms are the second. Missouri gets real severe weather in April and May, and if a line of it is moving through on travel day we move the date. Your kitten stays with us until it clears, at no cost.

And July and August are heavier here than the temperature suggests. Early flights, short handovers, and a car that is already cool before the carrier goes in it.

Settling in

The First Few Days at Home

A short flight, so most Missouri kittens arrive with energy left. Let them out in one room rather than the whole house, and offer water straight away.

Keep the food identical for the first week or two. If you chose ground transport they will already have had two gentle days and usually arrive hungry and remarkably calm.

Missouri families come from Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield, Columbia, Independence, Lee’s Summit, O’Fallon, St. Joseph and Joplin.

What Your Kitten Travels With

Every kitten goes home spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed, with a health certificate, a carrier and a one year genetic health warranty. Read the contract. A $350 deposit holds a kitten against the $650 price, and travel is quoted separately.
